Hada Labo Review Of The Lotion Super Hydrator

Hada Labo, Japan’s best-selling skin care line, has finally launched in the United Kingdom with their reformulated Tokyo series. The launch comes after the company had to adapt to meet EU regulations, resulting in a new product that differs slightly from its Japanese counterpart. One of the standout features of Hada Labo is their unique approach to hydration, which involves using different molecule sizes of hyaluronic acid in their lotions.

This allows for intense and long-lasting moisturization of the skin. The Tokyo Super Hydrator lotion is a key product in this range, offering the same level of hydration as its Japanese counterpart, the Gokujyun Lotion. In this post, I’ll be sharing my experience with the Hada Labo Tokyo Super Hydrator, providing an in-depth review of this popular skin care product.

What is Super Hyaluronic Acid?

Hada Labo’s product range is characterized by its signature ‘super hyaluronic acid’ lotion, which sets them apart from other skincare brands. This proprietary formula features three distinct molecule sizes of hyaluronic acid, carefully designed to provide multi-level hydration for the skin. As a powerful natural humectant, hyaluronic acid has the remarkable ability to hold over a thousand times its weight in water, making it an ideal ingredient for retaining moisture in the skin.

The thoughtful combination of these three molecule sizes in Hada Labo products allows them to deliver exceptional results, which has earned them a devoted following among skincare enthusiasts.

The Hada Labo Red Line & the White Line

The Hada Labo UK product range is characterized by two distinct colour-coded lines, with the white line focusing on hydration, plumping, and maintaining a healthy acid mantle, while the red line targets anti-aging concerns, incorporating retinol (in the form of retinyl palmitate) and collagen to combat signs of aging.

Notably, the red line is designed for individuals 34 years old or above, or those with dry skin in need of extra moisture, whereas the white line caters to a broader age range, making it accessible to anyone under 34 seeking a skincare routine focused on overall skin health and well-being.

The star of The Range’s lineup is undoubtedly their Super Hydrator lotion, which I’ve had the pleasure of testing. While they label it as a ‘lotion’, others refer to it as a toner – I personally think it’s a serum. Given its popularity, I opted for the red line to try it out.

This product is a game-changer, leaving my skin with a radiant glow and making it look bouncier and more elastic.

It’s incredible how much of a difference it makes, giving me a fresher complexion than when I wake up in the morning. The addition of a pump to the bottle was also a welcome change from the original product that required pouring.

The formula is quite runny, so I found the most effective way to apply it was to dispense 2-3 pumps onto my hands, rub them together, and then gently pat the product onto my face.

Some folks use cotton wool as a toner, but I preferred this method for achieving an even application. The product absorbed quickly into my skin, providing a solid base for other products to be applied on top. It dries matte, leaving no shiny finish behind – you can see just how watery it is from the picture.

After using this product for a couple of months now, I’m delighted to report that it’s made a noticeable difference in my skin.

Plus, it’s extremely affordable and lasts an impressively long time. When I bought it two months ago, I had high hopes – and it’s exceeded them in every way, with more than half the bottle still left to use.

The Hado Labo UK Range

The Hada Labo UK range boasts a comprehensive skincare lineup, featuring an eye cream as well as day and night creams. What’s more impressive is that these products are remarkably affordable, with most priced under £20. In fact, you could build a full routine using only products from this range for under £50. The brand’s offerings can be found on Amazon, both in the UK and United States.

Specifically, I had the opportunity to test out the OFFICIAL HADA LABO TOKYO ANTI-AGING SUPER HYDRATOR LOTION, part of their esteemed red line series.
